I left my home, friends and family behind in 2017, when I was 15 to study in the United States. In hindsight, I recognize the naivety in making that decision. Because of COVID, I wasn’t able to go home for more than 2 years. In this personal documentary, I speak with my parents, reflecting on stories from the collective past of our family, their lives before I was born and the consequences of my departure.
